afterschool program

Our Afterschool Program is for children in Kindergarten through 5th Grade, between the hours of 2:30 - 6:00 pm. We currently provide afterschool care, including arranging transportation of drop-off for the following local elementary schools: New Hope, Page, and Belmont Central. We also accept children from other schools that are dropped of to us during our Afterschool hours.

Afterschool classes are divided into grade levels with the possibility of more than one grade, primarily in the upper grades. For our afterschool classes, the classroom ratio is 16 children to one teacher. The children have the opportunity to complete homework, participate in weekly programs such as chapel, movement and music, as well as daily outdoor play, weather permitting.

The Afterschool program also follows the Gaston County School Calendar for holiday closures, however, for currently enrolled Afterschool families, we offer all-day care (7:00 am - 6:00 pm) on most GCS teacher workdays.
