1st Sunday of Advent + Deck the Halls

The Advent season marks the start of a sacred time of waiting, preparation, and hope for Christians around the world. During Advent, we remember God’s promises and prepare our hearts to welcome the coming of Jesus with expectation and joy.

All are invited to join us at 2:00 pm as we gather for our annual “Deck the Halls” and decorate our worship spaces for the Advent and Christmas season.

Blue Christmas Service
Monday, December 1 | 6:30 pm

The Christmas season can be hard for those whose hearts are hurting. You may be grieving the loss of a loved one, battling health concerns, facing financial struggles, or just having difficulty finding joy during the holidays. Whatever the reason, we invite you to join us for this quiet, contemplative service with scripture, prayers, candle lighting, and music. This special time reminds us of Christ’s presence with us and gives us peace. Come begin the Advent season with remembrance and hope!

Cocoa & Carillon
Sunday, December 7 | 4:00 pm

Come celebrate the Christmas season with warm cocoa, joyful fellowship, and the beautiful sounds of our carillon ringing out holiday cheer. All are welcome—bring a friend and share in the spirit of the season!

Youth Christmas Party
Sunday, December 7 | 6:00 pm

Middle + High School students are invited to join us as we gather in the Ford House to celebrate the season. Middle School will gather from 6:00-7:00 pm and High School from 7:00-8:00 pm. Bring a $10-$15 gift and come dressed as your favorite Christmas character! RSVP

Children’s Christmas Program +
Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest
Wednesday, December 10 | 6:30 pm

Come support our wonderful Children’s Ministry and enjoy a delightful program filled with music, joy, and the Christmas story told through the voices of our youngest members.

Before the program, join us at 5:30 pm for our weekly Fellowship Supper and our 2nd annual Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest! Categories up for grabs include cutest sweater, most cleaver sweater, tackiest sweater, funniest sweater, and more. Winners will take home bragging rights and a special treat! Stay tuned for dinner registration.

Merry Makers & Munchies Event
Saturday, December 13 | 9:30 am

All families are invited to gather with us morning of Christmas fun! We’ll share a light breakfast, listen to the Christmas story, and create special Christmas ornaments for you to take home. Please register by Wednesday, December 10 so we can prepare for this merry morning! RSVP

Lessons & Carols (3rd Sunday of Advent)
Sunday, December 14 | 11:00 am

Join us for one unified worship service at 11:00 am as we celebrate God’s promise and the hope of this holy season through Scripture readings and beloved carols. This uplifting service will feature a festival of music presented by our Sanctuary and Handbell Choirs, accompanied by organ and string quartet. Sunday School for all ages will be held at 9:45 am.

Youth McAdenville Walk-Thru
Sunday, December 14 | 6:00 pm

Middle + High School students will meet at the church at regular large group time (6:00 pm) and then will depart for McAdenville shortly after. Dinner + Cocoa + Treats will be provided and we will enjoy the beautiful lights of “Christmastown USA.”

Christmas at the Library
Thursday, December 18

*REGISTRATION CLOSED* Our “Young at Hearts” Senior Adults will enjoy an inspiring evening at the Billy Graham Library visiting the beautifully decorated grounds, experiencing the “Journey of Faith” tour, followed by the library’s ever-popular Christmas Dinner at 7:00 pm. Stay tuned for information regarding transportation and departure time.

4th Sunday of Advent
Sunday, December 21

We will gather for a unified service of worship at 11:00 am in the Sanctuary, preceded by Sunday School at 9:45 am.

Christmas Eve Worship
Sunday, December 24

Celebrate the wonder of Christmas with us as we come together to reflect on and experience the joy and hope of the Savior’s birth. An offering will be taken up at both services to benefit First Presbyterian’s Feed the Children program.

11:00 Service (Family Service): A short service of Scripture, communion, and candle lighting. Children are invited to place small animals (provided) in the manger.

5:30 pm (Traditional Service): A more formal service of Scripture reading, special music, communion, and candle lighting.

First Sunday of Christmas
Sunday, December 28 | 11:00 am

We will gather for a unified service of worship at 11:00 am in the Sanctuary, preceded by Sunday School at 9:45 am.
