In the early 1980's, our church recognized a need for a high quality child care center for working families in the Belmont area. After much thought, prayer and planning, the First Presbyterian Church Week Day School opened its doors in 1985. The Week Day School is a mission of our church with the central purpose of providing the children of our church and our community with a strong Christian education in a loving and nurturing environment. Our program is open to all children regardless of racial, economic, and religious background.

We work hard to provide your child with excellent teachers, a clean and safe facility, a stimulating and developmentally appropriate curriculum and have earned the highest rating, 5 stars from the state of North Carolina

Our goal is to help our students develop spiritually, intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically. We believe these goals are best accomplished in a Godly environment that is safe, fun and accepting of every child.

Our curriculum is thematic, child-centered, and developmentally appropriate. It has been designed to build self-esteem, stimulate curiosity, encourage creativity, and instill a love of learning in each child. We want your child to know that she or he is loved by God as well as by family, other adults, and other children. Our three, four and five-year-old classes in the Week Day School and Preschool have a weekly chapel time.

We are open 52 weeks per year, with the exception of ten scheduled holidays and days out due to inclement weather.  We also provide after school care from Belmont Central and Page Elementary schools and are planning to add New Hope and McAdenville Schools, including transportation, in 2018. We have a Summer Camp for children in Kindergarten through fifth grade.
