"Start children off on the way they should go and even when they are old, they will not turn from it."
Children change so much between the time they begin kindergarten to when they go to Middle School. To get them started on their faith journeys, we provide a variety of age appropriate, hands on learning experiences to encourage them to dig deeper into God's word and discover how God is at work in their lives right now. We emphasize mission in everything we do from kindergarten through college age young adults. Elementary School age kids participate in local missions in Belmont, learn about God's children in other countries and raise funds for various mission efforts. This year their mission project is Clean Water for Peru through Operation Kid to Kid.
Family sunday school, vacation Bible school
Our preschool 4 year olds through 5th graders and their parents may attend Family Sunday School, where parents and children learn together. Children may still attend class if their parents choose to attend other adult classes. Please click here for more information about Family Sunday School
During the summer, we have Vacation Bible School in June. In August we have Wacky Wednesdays- a fun mission adventure for rising 3rd-5th graders and rising 6th-8th graders.
Every Wednesday afternoon between 4:30 pm and 6:00 pm, our Gathering Space fills with 4-year-olds through 5th graders learning faith in God through music, games, crafts, missions, special events, field trips and fun. Our third through fifth graders have special trips and other experiences.
We encourage all of our children to assist in worship. Our 3rd graders learn about the Lord's Supper with our associate pastor, then carry the bread and cup when we celebrate communion. Our 4th graders take acolyte training from our senior pastor and light the candles to begin and end all our worship services. Our Kids Central kids have special Kid Central Music at Christmas and on Children's Ministry Sunday in the spring.
