Pipe Organ
The three manual organ at First Presbyterian Church, Belmont was originally built and installed by Austin Organs, Inc. of Hartford, Connecticut in 1927. The organ has been revoiced and enlarged three times. The first renovation occurred in 1966 when the organ was moved into the present sanctuary. In 1982 the organ was enlarged with the addition of an antiphonal organ. In 1996 the organ was renovated and enlarged to its current size of 46 ranks by the Austin Organ Company. The dedicatory recital was played by past Organist/Choirmaster David Lowry and trumpeter Miller Miller in conjunction with the fiftieth Anniversary of the American Guild of Organists, Charlotte chapter on All Saint’s Sunday, November 29, 1997.
