Choirs for Children

Cherub, SonShine, Alleluia and Trinity Choirs

The Cherub,  SonShine, Alleluia and Trinity Choirs rehearse during WOW on Wednesdays.

Cherub Choir is for 3  and 4 year olds.  They meet separately.
The Sonshine choir is for children who are in kindegarten.  They learn worship etiquette, rehearsal manners, simple rhythms, ear training and melodic direction.
The Alleluia Choir is for 1st - 2nd graders and teaches basis music reading skills, use of the hymnal and commitment to sharing time and talents.  Trinity Choir is for grades 3-5.  They learn to read musical notation and sing in two parts.   These choirs participate in worship about once each month.
The Trinity Choir plans and leads a worship service in May.  Children who demonstrate a desire to grow musically and spiritually and meet attendance requirements are encouraged to attend the conference on Worship and Music at Montreat each year.  Also available during the summer months is the Music Camp offered by the Gaston Baptist Association.
