Love's Chapel
Founded in 1916, Love's Chapel is an Afro-American church in Belmont, North Carolina. Love's Chapel is our sister church in the community.
Reverend Calvin Lewers is the pastor of Love's Chapel. Calvin is a graduate of Union-PSCE in Charlotte, with an undergraduate degree from Johnson C. Smith University and a Masters Degree from UNC-Charlotte. His former career was in education as a teacher, guidance counselor and principal in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System. He has been very active in the Presbyterian Church as an elder, a children’s church leader, Sunday School teacher for Junior and Senior High youth, and an adult advisor. He has served as a member of the General Assembly Council (GAC) of the Presbyterian Church USA. He is married with three daughters.
In Calvin’s words, their primary mission is to be a leader in the community, provide outreach, and lift up the Lord Jesus Christ to their members and the community. They have 29 members on their role.
Their outreach includes their Cheer Fund, donating to different organizations in the community, visitation and donations to those who are ill, and college students outreach.
