Kids Central is more than just our address . . . children are central to our ministry at First Presbyterian!
Our children begin Sunday morning in the Nursery or Sunday School. During Worship, our younger children move to PAWS or Children's Church following the children's sermon, while older children participate in worship as acolytes upon completion of the Acolyte Training class and through participation in the SonShine, Alleluia and Trinity choirs. We welcome our third graders to the Lord's Table each Ash Wednesday after they complete the Communicant's Class.
Sunday evening, our 3rd through 5th grade children come back to the church for JAM, where they grow in a relationship with Jesus Christ through choir, drama, drumming and chimes.
WOW! - Worship on Wednesdays is our midweek afterschool program for three year olds through 2nd grade children, where they experience the Bible through art, music, games and mission activities.
Monday evening, First Presbyterian Church hosts a vibrant and growing Boy Scout program, offering the opportunity for all the children of our community to experience the tradition of scouting. Five Girl Scout troops also call our church home, and meet at various times throughout the week. Visit our Scouting pages for more information on all our Scouting programs for boys and girls.
Our Weekday School offers Day School and PreSchool classes for infants through Pre-K. Before school and afterschool programs (Whiz Kids) are also offered. Visit our Weekday School site for more information.
Throughout the church calendar, exciting special programs are offered for all our children, including the live nativity, spring musical and Vacation Bible School. With each program and experience, we want our children and their families to grow in friendships, character and most importantly a joyful relationship with their Savior, Jesus Christ!
