Webelos is for 4th and 5th grade boys. Webelos stands for "WE'll BE LOyal Scouts". A boy may begin working on the Webelos badge as soon as he joins a Webelo Den. This is his first step in his transition from a Cub Scout pack to a Boy Scout troop. As a Webelo Scout completes the requirements found in his Webelo handbook, he will work on 20 activity badges (such as craftsman, naturalist, geologist, citizen, just to name a few), attend meetings led by an adult leader, and becomes familiar with the Boy Scout joining requirements - all leading to the highest award a boy can earn as a Cub Scout, the Arrow of Light Award. Once a boy has achieved the Arrow of Light award or has completed the 5th grade, he may move on to a Boy Scout Troop.
