I was born in New York but moved to Raleigh at the age of 10 when my father was transferred there with IBM. Later we were transferred to Paris, France, where I lived during high school.

 I graduated from UNC- Greensboro with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. After graduation I worked in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, and also in OB-GYN and pediatrician offices. After 12 years clinical practice, I left to work as a Legal Nurse Consultant in a personal injury law firm.

 In February 2002, I began work at Union Presbyterian Seminary in Charlotte as part of the first class; the "Genesis" class, and graduated in April 2007. During my seminary experience, I did a 9 month internship at the Presbyterian Church of Lowell and a Chaplain Internship at Carolinas Medical Center. 

 My husband, Jerry, is an attorney and together we have 4 children.
