DISCIPLE Bible Study

DISCIPLE Bible Study

"If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples . . ." (John 8:31 RSV)

DISCIPLE Bible Study classes are small groups of approximately twelve persons who meet weekly to study the Bible.  These studies are for anyone seeking an in-depth Bible study, from those who have never studied the Bible before to those who have studied the Scriptures extensively.  Through DISCIPLE, we grow in our understanding of God's word in individual study, small group discussion and class participation.

In September 2011, DISCIPLE Bible Study begins its sixth year at First Presbyterian Church.  We are offering two DISCIPLE opportunities this year.

DISCIPLE I - "Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study" meets in the Chancel Room each Sunday during the Sunday School Hour (9:30 - 10:15 a.m.).

"Jesus and the Gospels" meets in the Chancel Room each Wednesday morning from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m.

"For me, Disciple Bible Study was the most in-depth group Bible study I have ever been a part of.  Disciple is not just something you attend and listen to, it is participatory.  Class time was a great time of listening and sharing.  It was also like having a guided tour of the Bible."

"I realized just how much more my God loves me.  Through Disciple, the scriptures were opened and taught in such a way that I was able to comprehend them.  I feel more confident in sharing our Lord with others through the knowledge I gained in this class."

Disciple is so much more than Bible study.  It is experiencing God's word in and for our lives, and growing in understanding through the eyes and experiences of our fellow travelers on the journey.  I thought the weekly commitment would be a burden, but it turned out to be pure joy!"
